Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Central Starts off Right with Win over Old Fort

Buckeye Central took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Old Fort Stockaders. The win continues a trend for the Bucks in their matchups with the Stockaders: they've now won three in a row.

Buckeye Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.

Buckeye Central found their leader in freshman Mayzie Hanlon, who had 20 digs and two assists.

Buckeye Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Old Fort lost, don't look at Carly Fortney. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs.

Buckeye Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Pleasant on the 19th. As for Old Fort, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against New Riegel on the 19th.
