The Colusa RedHawks struggled with assists on Thursday (the University Prep Panthers had 1400% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Colusa was outmatched by University Prep on the road and fell 85-42. Colusa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-22.
Lucas Price and Jace Mackaben certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Price scored 8 points along with 3 steals, while Mackaben scored 11 points. Price continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Scott Steffan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for University Prep, scoring 22 points along with 6 rebounds. Jack Ampi was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 assists.
Colusa's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for University Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
Colusa's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hamilton at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. University Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Las Plumas at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Las Plumas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
