The Oktaha Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 69-61 win over Wright City. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Lumberjax players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ali Gibson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalan Haley, who scored 14 points.
Oktaha's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Wright City, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oktaha won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Quinton on January 6th. Quinton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Wright City and Sequoyah will face off on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sequoyah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Wright City is ranked 15th).
