On Friday, Pocahontas are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Southeast Valley at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Pocahontas, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Pocahontas couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to Sioux Central by a decisive 7-25 margin.
Southeast Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Hampton-Dumont/Cal 40-0.
Southeast Valley's win lifted them to 1-0 while Pocahontas's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Southeast Valley can add another positive mark to their record or if Pocahontas can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Southeast Valley's step.
