Basketball Recap: Neuse Charter Piles Up the Points Against Central Carolina Academy

There's no place like home for Neuse Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Central Carolina Academy Eagles 85-30. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Neuse Charter was led to victory by Jeremiah Edwards and Klayton Tew. Edwards posted 22 points and three steals, while Tew put up 17 points and six boards. Edwards' big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Aiden Headlee was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Neuse Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Central Carolina Academy still got an impressive performance from Jax Gaddy, who scored 16 points. That was a full 53.3% of the Eagles' points, marking the third time in a row Gaddy has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Neuse Charter pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points over those games. As for Central Carolina Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Neuse Charter will challenge Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Carolina Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cornerstone Charter at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
