The Northwest Christian Crusaders will stay at home for another game and welcome the Thatcher Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Northwest Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Eagles onto the board and left with a 1-0 win.
Meanwhile, Thatcher came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Odyssey Institute by a score of 2-0. Thatcher's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.
Will Chidester was the driving force of Thatcher's attack as he scored both of Thatcher's goals. With that big game, he's now up to 11 goals this season.
Northwest Christian pushed their record up to 14-2-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight games. As for Thatcher, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Everything went Northwest Christian's way against Thatcher when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Northwest Christian made off with a 3-0 win. Does Northwest Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thatcher turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
