The Franklin Panthers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the West Henderson Falcons at 7:00 p.m. West Henderson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin, who comes in off a win.
Franklin gave up the first points last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 victory over Smoky Mountain. Franklin pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Smoky Mountain cut but never quite recovered from.
Franklin found their leader in underclassman Anderson Terrell, who threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Lance Parker was another key contributor, picking up 138 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, West Henderson suffered a rough 41-18 loss at the hands of Pisgah two weeks ago.
Franklin's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for West Henderson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
