The Clopton Hawks lost against the Van-Far Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Clopton took a hard 62-46 fall against Van-Far.
Van-Far was led to victory by Pacey Reading and Nikos Connaway. Reading scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Connaway scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Connaway has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Jennings, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Clopton's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Van-Far, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clopton on the road again on Tuesday and play against Louisiana at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Louisiana has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Van-Far, they will head out on the road to square off against Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery County will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
