Climax-Scotts is 0-3 against Lakeview since May of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Panthers will host the Spartans at 10:00 a.m. Climax-Scotts will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Climax-Scotts' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Bellevue. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Logan Gilbert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Eyre, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Climax-Scotts always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Lakeview can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Portage Central by a score of 6-2.
Like Climax-Scotts, Lakeview also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Deal. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Deal was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
In other pitching news, Tyler Duval tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lakeview is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-10 otherwise.
Deal wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam McCullough, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Climax-Scotts pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lakeview, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Lakeview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Climax-Scotts has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .557. It's a different story for Lakeview, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Climax-Scotts' hitters?
