West Oso is 0-7 against Orange Grove since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Oso Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Orange Grove Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. West Oso has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th.
Last Thursday, West Oso was the victim of a tough 34-13 loss at the hands of Robstown.
Meanwhile, Orange Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 62-33 defeat at the hands of Sinton. Orange Grove was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.
Despite their loss, Orange Grove saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Rodriguez, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 256 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Aidan Yeatman was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Orange Grove's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Landon Chandler and his three sacks.
The losses dropped West Oso to 1-7 and Orange Grove to 4-3.
West Oso took a serious blow against Orange Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 66-33. Can West Oso avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
