The Collegiate Spartans entered their tilt with the El Dorado Wildcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Collegiate strolled past El Dorado with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 74-58. Given Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while El Dorado is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why El Dorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan Garner. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garner has scored all season. Chase Lesh was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Even though they lost, El Dorado were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. As for El Dorado, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collegiate will take on Mulvane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Dorado, they will be playing at home against Circle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
