Basketball Recap: Boquet Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Ella Pulsifer and Emily Hickey

Boquet Valley blew Schroon Lake out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Schroon Lake got their revenge. The Boquet Valley Griffins fell just short of the Schroon Lake Wildcats by a score of 32-29. The match marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Boquet Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Emily Hickey and Ella Pulsifer. Hickey posted eight points and 11 rebounds, while Pulsifer had six points along with eight boards and three blocks. That's the most rebounds Hickey has posted since back in January.

Boquet Valley's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Schroon Lake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boquet Valley will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Seton Catholic Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. After both having extra time off, Schroon Lake and Warrensburg will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
