Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Tigers are ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Porterville can attribute much of their success to Ethan Enriquez, who threw for 132 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes. Jonathan Ruiz did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards.
