Berthoud won the last time they faced Northridge and things went their way on Friday too. The Berthoud Spartans enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over the Northridge Grizzlies. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Berthoud had a senior duo take command as Weston Peatrowsky posted nine points along with seven boards and six assists and Isaac Erickson went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and three steals. Erickson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Newbill, who put up six points.
Berthoud was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only racked up eight assists.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Es Sylvere, who had 16 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amadrick Woods, who scored eight points and six boards.
Berthoud's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Northridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Berthoud didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-49 defeat against Greeley Central on the 28th. As for Northridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-43 loss against Timnath on the 28th.
