Petersburg took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Berkeley Springs Indians 56-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.
Petersburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Metheny led the charge by throwing for 157 yards and five TDs. Despite the loss, Berkeley Springs still got an impressive performance from Kyle Moore, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Petersburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 66-6 victory against Wyoming East on the 5th. As for Berkeley Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-8 win against Hancock on the 5th.
