The Colonial Beach Drifters''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 50-18 loss at the hands of Northumberland. Colonial Beach lost against Northumberland in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-6 score last time.
Northumberland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyreek Lundy out in front who threw for 206 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Markiel Cockrell, who gained 142 total yards and two touchdowns.
Colonial Beach's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Northumberland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Colonial Beach will head out on the road to face off against Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northumberland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rappahannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
