The University Wildcats and the Palisades Dolphins will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. University has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
University pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 73-58 fall against Venice. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Thursday (57), University still had to take the loss.
Ian Uriarte put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Ledwith, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Palisades waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Agoura by a score of 56-49.
University's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-14. As for Palisades, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.
University might still be hurting after the 65-41 loss they got from Palisades when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
