The Oakdale Eagles will square off against the Sunbright Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Tuesday, Oakdale needed a bit of extra time to put away Rockwood. They blew past the Tigers 16-7. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Morgan Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Scott was even better at the plate, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Tilson, who got on base in four of his seven plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Oakdale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Stout, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sunbright). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jellico a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28, 2025 (when they won 19-9).
Like Oakdale, Sunbright also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Bunch. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Bunch was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Sunbright let Kenneth Jones and Levi Walker run wild. Jones earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base, while Walker got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those runs marked the first that Walker has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Grayson Newport, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Oakdale now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Sunbright, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
Sunbright's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oakdale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Sunbright, though, as they've only averaged .262. Will they be able to contain Oakdale's hitters?
Oakdale got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Sunbright by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
