The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors were the 47-43 winner over the Calipatria Hornets when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Desert Christian Academy received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 50-33 to Calipatria. While losing is never fun, Desert Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Calipatria is ranked 102nd).
When it comes to explaining why Desert Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Brown. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Augustine Youssef, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Desert Christian Academy has fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Calipatria, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Desert Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Temecula Prep at 5:30 p.m. Calipatria is on the road again on December 7th and play against San Ysidro at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th.
