St. David has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on St. Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully St. David's is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Mary's in North Carolina (St. David's is ranked 109th, while St. Mary's is ranked 335th).
St. David's can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Cary Christian on the road to the tune of 53-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory St. David's has posted since December 8, 2023.
St. David's can attribute much of their success to Eliza Everett, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Kate Benson, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Benson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Rebecca Leshnock was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's came up short against Cary Academy on Tuesday and fell 40-31. St. Mary's has not had much luck with Cary Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
St. David's has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
St. David's strolled past St. Mary's in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 41-25. Will St. David's repeat their success, or does St. Mary's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
