Softball Game Preview: Biddeford Tigers vs. Gorham Rams

Biddeford and Gorham are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Biddeford is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Deering on Friday by a score of 15-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Mariah Villandry, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaysie Mitchell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Biddeford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deering only managed two.

Meanwhile, on Monday Gorham's undefeated season almost came to an end. They never let Westbrook get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

Not much got past Bella McBrady, who gave up just four hits to keep Westbrook off the board. McBrady has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Biddeford's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Gorham, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Biddeford might still be hurting after the 17-3 defeat they got from Gorham in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
