Danville (Pa.) maintained a perfect record in conference play with a 45-7 victory over Shikellamy (Sunbury, Pa.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Weston Baylor touchdown pass to
Evan Tanner in the second quarter, the Ironmen were up 28-7 at the half.
Danville expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored three times in the third, including once on an
Isaac Troutman touchdown run.
Shikellamy's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run in the first quarter.
The Ironmen went into the matchup giving up only 10.7 points per game. Shikellamy's seven points were well below their season average of 16.0 per game. Shikellamy came in giving up 17.6 points per game this season. SHS had a hard time against Danville's offense, which entered the game scoring 26.7 points per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for DHS, which was coming off a 21-10 defeat at the hands of Montoursville in its previous game. The loss comes after Shikellamy defeated Jersey Shore 29-19 last week. The loss snapped Shikellamy's two-game winning streak.
