Gilbert Christian had to suffer through a rough 79-31 loss at the hands of Mesquite. Gilbert Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-16.
Despite the loss, Gilbert Christian still got an impressive performance from Kaila Aston, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Vanessa Sepulveda continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mesquite, scoring 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sepulveda has scored at least 25% of Mesquite's points. The team also got some help courtesy of kahlia Gonzales, who scored 13 points.
Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mesquite, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Gilbert Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bourgade Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Mesquite, they will be playing at home against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Mesquite is ranked first).
