There's no place like home for the Wendover Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-35 win over Piute on Friday. For Wendover, this counts as revenge for the 27-26 loss Piute walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hicks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Delgadillo, who scored nine points along with four blocks.
Wendover is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Piute, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.
Wendover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-38 win vs. Manila on the 10th. Piute does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
