The Giles County Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Alcoa Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Giles County comes in on ten and Alcoa on four.
Giles County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Meigs County. Giles County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine games by 21 points or more this season.
Giles County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zori Randolph, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Giles County also got a significant boost from Kamauri A turner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Meanwhile, Alcoa stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Gatlinburg-Pittman as Alcoa made off with a 31-7 win. With Alcoa ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Their wins bumped Giles County to 10-2 and Meigs County to 12-1.
Giles County might still be hurting after the 38-13 loss they got from Alcoa when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Giles County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
