Video: Jake Lundkovsky highlights vs. EtowahLundkovsky and his Blessed Trinity teammates were part of a 52-game win streak in 2016.
The national high school baseball win streaks aren't quite as long to start the 2017 season as they were in 2016, but that could change over the course of the season.
No team is close to the 50 straight wins that St. Cloud Cathedral (Minn.) started last season with and then stretched to 58 in a row before losing to Little Falls. Meanwhile, Blessed Trinity (Roswell, Ga.) saw its win streak reach 52 games last year.
Sage Hill (Newport Beach, Calif.) begins the 2017 season with a 27-game win streak (which it has since stretched to 29 in a row with two wins to start this season). The run was part of a super season for the Lightning in more ways than one.
After starting the season 1-2, Sage Hill ran off 27 straight wins to capture the Southern Section Division 6 championship. Leading the way was junior pitcher
Brett Super, who went 13-0 last year and has won 26 straight decisions (including one in 2017).
Following are the eight teams in the nation that start the 2017 season with 20 or more wins in a row.
