Edgewood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Germain, who scored four points along with two steals. Germain is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Cocoa found their leader in underclassman Gianna Conklin-Jones, who scored 24 points along with five steals. Conklin-Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Khamoni Agee was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Cocoa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Edgewood will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Satellite at 7:00 p.m. As for Cocoa, they will head out on the road to take on Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Palm Bay has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four matchups.
