Even though Grace Christian Academy has not done well against the Lions recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Grace Christian Academy came out on top against the Lions by a score of 51-39.
Grace Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Hammock led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Hammock has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Hayden Hill was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Providence Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Christian Academy of Knoxville, falling 70-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Providence Academy has scored all season.
Grace Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Providence Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-16.
Tuesday's game is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Grace Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Providence Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
