South Lyon had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Lyon East Cougars a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-4 on Friday.

South Lyon got a great performance from Ryan Walters as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Walters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andrew Verona-Kerley was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Williams also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

South Lyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .531 or higher in three consecutive contests.

South Lyon pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Lyon East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

South Lyon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
