The Assumption Rockets will take on the Madison Central Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Assumption is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Assumption made easy work of Cooper and carried off a 16-1 win. Considering the Rockets have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lauren Satterly made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lauren Campisano was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Ashley Jones was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Assumption always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Madison Central's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 10-1 to Ballard. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Indians, who until this contest were averaging 3.55 runs allowed.
Madison Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lina Guerra, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Assumption's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Madison Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Assumption hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Madison Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Assumption skirted past Madison Central 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
