Analy is a perfect 3-0 against Novato since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Analy will be strutting in after a victory while Novato will be coming in after a loss.
Analy will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Montgomery, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Vikings on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Sophia Pellini spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Ava Hallstrom was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Bloom, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Novato was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to Cardinal Newman. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Novato saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Conrado, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Sofia Long also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Novato's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Analy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Novato's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Analy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Novato, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Analy keep running through batters, or will the Hornets buck the trend?
Everything went Analy's way against Novato in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Analy made off with a 14-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
