The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Mildred 21-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Scurry-Rosser also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Scurry-Rosser got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Bradshaw out in front who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Scurry-Rosser's win was their sixth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Newman International Academy and 1-9 Bonham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.9% over those games). As for Mildred, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Scurry-Rosser will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Blue Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 723rd, while Scurry-Rosser is ranked 346th). As for Mildred, they will be playing at home against Rice at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rice has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25.
