The Bret Harte Bullfrogs will challenge the Riverbank Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bret Harte will be strutting in after a win while Riverbank will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Bret Harte turned things around against Summerville on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 12-5 victory. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Bullfrogs this season.
Madison Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Bret Harte got a big performance out of Keelin McDonald, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those two hits gave McDonald a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Colwell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bret Harte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Riverbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They fell 5-0 to Linden.
Maya Guzman put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Guzman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.
Guzman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Briseida Felix, who went 1-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Felix has hit this season.
Riverbank's loss dropped their record down to 2-23-1. As for Bret Harte, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bret Harte has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Riverbank struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bret Harte beat Riverbank 9-4 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Bullfrogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
