The Chatham Cougars will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the New Providence Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Chatham faced Pope John XXIII in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chatham walked away with a 57-47 win over Pope John XXIII.
Meanwhile, New Providence waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over Elizabeth. New Providence has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Chatham's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for New Providence, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Chatham ended up a good deal behind New Providence when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 51-32. Can Chatham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
