The Hialeah Thoroughbreds suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Hialeah Gardens, falling 65-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hialeah has scored all season.
Khalil Volel was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Hialeah Gardens. Volel continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Pupo, who scored seven points along with 14 assists and two steals.
Hialeah bumped their record down to 7-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hialeah Gardens, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Hialeah will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hialeah Gardens, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Columbus' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
