The Mesa Jackrabbits put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 62-55 victory over Desert Ridge. Given Mesa's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Desert Ridge is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Conway Cummard, who scored 16 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Seumanu, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Mesa's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Desert Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesa will take on Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Salpointe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. As for Desert Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maricopa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
