St. Petersburg is 10-0 against Hollins since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. St. Petersburg posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Pinellas Park out 49-46.
St. Petersburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nique Slone, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Slone scored 15 or more points. Kennedy Curro was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hollins came up short against St. Petersburg Catholic on Saturday and fell 33-22. Hollins has struggled against St. Petersburg Catholic recently, as their contest on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
St. Petersburg's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Hollins, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Everything came up roses for St. Petersburg against Hollins in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-12 win. Does St. Petersburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hollins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
