Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Apollo's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Apollo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valley Vista, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks put the hurt on the Monsoon with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Rey Garcia was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Elias Munoz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Apollo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Vista only posted an OBP of .375.

Apollo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Vista, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8.

Apollo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Monsoon: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
