Chaparral is 7-1 against Highlands Ranch since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Chaparral Wolverines are on the road again and plays the Highlands Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Chaparral is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Colorado (they are ranked fourth, while Highlands Ranch is ranked 57th).
Even though ThunderRidge scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Chaparral still came out on top. Chaparral enjoyed a cozy 75-59 victory over ThunderRidge.
Chaparral's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Christian Williams, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds, and Gavin Carter, who scored 30 points along with five assists and two steals. Carter has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Jenkins, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Highlands Ranch pushed their score all the way to 69 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legend.
Highlands Ranch might have lost, but man, Olin Anderson was a machine: he scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Payton TerEick, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Chaparral pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Highlands Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Chaparral strolled past Highlands Ranch in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 62-45. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Highlands Ranch's Travis Bray, who scored 22 points.
