The Hamilton Yankees suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-48 walloping at the hands of Westchester. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while Westchester is ranked 250th).
Hamilton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Micah Jahn, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, and Demaije May who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Vernell Thompson, who scored seven points.
Hamilton bumped their record down to 8-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Westchester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Los Angeles CES the next time they take the court. Westchester will host Los Angeles CES at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Hamilton will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
