Killingly fought the good fight in their overtime match against Putnam on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clippers.
Meanwhile, Wheeler scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Guilford out 56-54. The win was familiar territory for Wheeler who now have three in a row.
Killingly bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Wheeler, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Killingly strolled past Wheeler in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 54-36. Will Killingly repeat their success, or does Wheeler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
