Parkwood is a perfect 10-0 against Forest Hills since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Parkwood will be playing at home against Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Parkwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Academy, taking the game 12-9. The Wolf Pack haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Parkwood got a massive performance out of Grayce Marvel, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Marvel's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Marvel wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Parkwood lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forest Hills). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Monroe on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
Lylah Starnes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Starnes was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Forest Hills let Maggie Weber and Aubrey Horne run wild. Weber scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Horne scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Weber a new career-high. Laurieyata Cuthbertson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Forest Hills' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Parkwood, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Parkwood took their victory against Forest Hills in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. Will Parkwood repeat their success, or does Forest Hills has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
