Anne Arundel County recap September 10, 2013
Southern's Dejuan Neal rumbled for the longest rushing play in Anne Arundel County this season in his game against Fairmont Heights last week. Neal's team bested the Hornets as he sprinted for 95 yards on the play and finished with 193 in all.
Arundel was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to seventh in the league. The Wildcats beat Severna Park 38-14 earlier in the week.
Neal was the most successful running back in the league this week. Addison Myles also contributed to the rushing game with 72 yards on the ground.
Carrington Contee was a key player and the best on defense this week as Southern defeated Fairmont Heights. The 5-foot-5 senior recorded 2 fumbles.
Neal provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Russell Meyers' team beat Jeff Johnson's team.
Tyler Curtin put up the best numbers through the air as Northeast bested Crossland. He finished with 5 completions for 63 yards.
The Eagles' 5-foot-11 quarterback Curtin is the league leader in passing yards this season with 63.
The marquee game in Anne Arundel County this week will be the clash between Old Mill and Arundel. The Patriots enters the contest ranked 13th in the state, while Chuck Markiewicz's team ranks 17th.
The Bulldogs took down the Hornets 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Neal in the win.
