Morris Catholic lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Whippany Park, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Crusaders have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Sofia Reisinger made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Savannah Mead was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Morris Catholic will challenge Middletown North at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
