The Ferndale Eagles entered their tilt with the Cass Tech Technicians with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ferndale sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over Cass Tech on Tuesday.
Ferndale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaliyah Frost, who scored 20 points. Frost is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyanna McGarrell, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Ferndale pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Cass Tech, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Ferndale will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Dexter at 8:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Cass Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Renaissance at 7:00 p.m.
