It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lewisburg Baptist Academy Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Elk Valley Christian and snuck past 53-51. The win was just what Lewisburg Baptist Academy needed coming off of a 78-55 loss in their prior game.
Leading Lewisburg Baptist Academy to victory were Dylan Wykle and Austin Beane. Wykle scored 17 points, while Beane scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Brookman, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Elk Valley Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy will head out on the road to challenge New Life Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ignite Athletics at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Ignite Athletics is ranked 125th, while Elk Valley Christian is ranked 111th).
