Greeley West hasn't had much luck against Windsor recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Wizards at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Greeley West turned things around against Northglenn on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Norsemen 10-9. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Isaiah Preciado was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for Greeley West: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Preciado was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Duhring, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliott Leffler, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Windsor had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The Wizards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.
Drew Miller looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Eastin Hubbard was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Fillinger, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley West only posted an OBP of .143.
Greeley West's record now sits at 5-11. As for Windsor, their record is now 11-3.
Greeley West suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Windsor in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
