With a playoff game on the line, the Mater Dei Monarchs rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat JSerra Catholic 38-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Mater Dei, who have now won seven games by 34 points or more so far this season.
Mater Dei had a senior duo take command as Ajon Bryant rushed for 79 yards and three touchdowns and Elijah Brown threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes.
Mater Dei's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.75 points. As for JSerra Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Mater Dei will be playing in front of their home fans against Sierra Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Canyon will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. JSerra Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
