The Lakeland Christian Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Frostproof Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frostproof took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeland Christian, who comes in off a win.
Lakeland Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by Discovery on the road to the tune of 55-20.
Lakeland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collette Zavada, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Kiya Boyce was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 steals and 6 assists.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-6, which was the final score in Frostproof's tilt against Lake Placid on Tuesday. Frostproof has not had much luck with Lake Placid recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Lakeland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Frostproof, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Lakeland Christian against Frostproof in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 as the squad secured a 52-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
