The Northeast Academy Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Albemarle School 47-31 on Wednesday. The win was just what Northeast Academy needed coming off of a 65-16 loss in their prior match.
Northeast Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Medford, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Medford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jake Parks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Albemarle School still got an impressive performance from Rylan James, who scored 11 points along with five blocks. James continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Northeast Academy's victory ended a 17-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12. As for Albemarle School, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-17.
Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Albemarle School is ranked 684th, while Northeast Academy is ranked 672nd). As for Albemarle School, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeast Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northeast Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday.
